Trouble shooting: My device does not boot?


If your device does not start, please try the following tests before sending the device to a service center. This can help avoid downtime and costs.


Cause 1: Device has frozen

  1. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 20 seconds and then release it. This will force a restart.
  • Starts: Device has frozen /if this happens frequently, reset the device to factory settings to rule out third-party apps as the cause.
  • Does not start: Continue to the next cause.

Cause 2: Defective battery

  1. If available, try using the battery from another IS530.x device with the same zone approval that is known to be working.
  • Starts: The battery was defective.
  • Does not start: Continue to cause 4.

Cause 3: Battery is not fastened

  1. Check the battery's mounting screws.
  2. Tighten them by hand.
  3. Start the device.
  4. When starting, the boot logo should appear, and the device should vibrate briefly.
  • Starts: Screws were too loose, the device works again.
  • Does not start: Continue to the next cause.

Cause 4: Battery is empty

  1. Use the original charging cable and power plug (USB 5V/min.2A)
  2. Charge the device for 3 hours
  3. Start the device
  4. When starting, the boot logo should appear, and the device should vibrate briefly.
  • Starts: Battery was not charged
  • Does not start: Continue to the next cause.

Cause 5: Deeply discharged battery

  1. Remove the battery
  2. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds
  3. Reinsert the battery and tighten the screws by hand or lock the battery in place.
  4. Use the original charging cable and power plug (USB 5V/min. 2A) - IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to start the device as soon as the charging cable is connected. If you have attempted to start it, start again at point 1.
  5. Charge the device for 12 hours.
  6. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 20 seconds and then release it.
  7. When starting, the boot logo should appear and the device should vibrate briefly.
  • Starts: Battery was deeply discharged. If the battery was too deeply discharged, consider replacing it.
  • Does not start: Device is defective and should be sent in for repair (possible defects: motherboard, display, charging contact).


If the device still does not start after all these tests, please consider sending it to one of our service centres for repair.
